This is a slightly odd image. It was started as a commission for someone (who will still get their commission, honest!) but as I built the image it became something entirely different and I just went along with the story that was desperate to come out of it ^_^

The result is this...An internal struggle between Anders then and Anders now. I'll let the pic speak in terms of the emotions going on here between his past and present selves, but I got pretty upset just drawing it, haha.

As always, thank you to bioware for creating such a contantly intriguing and inspirational character!

I'm not going to mark this as adult content, because - well - it's not. But if anyone is concerned, just let me know and I'll pop a marker on it. ^_^

Nicely done! I like DA2 Anders' vulnerability in this piece, mostly. The attempt to avert his gaze from his old self - and also to keep Awakening Anders blind to what he has become here - is very evocative and a little heartbreaking. Like I said, very nice. I'm quite fond of this character...not because Anders is inspiring to me, but because he is a broken man that still tries to maintain dignity in the face of madness, possession and obsession. He's well-written and not made of the same stuff as every other protagonist/antagonist/wild card/renegade out there. He has human faults.

Thank you. You're right, he's a many-layered chara. I think Anders' character was meant to evoke raw emotion, whether it was anger or pathos or (ahem) something else.

His actions also made the player take a good hard look at their own morals and values. Would I do what he did to prove my point...for freedom...for love...? I wouldn't compromise my ideals, not for anything - so I understand his whole 'renegade' thing, even if I don't wholly agree with it.

Your idea is great, a pity I hate how Bioware changed Anders... to be precise, I loved him until act 3 came, then I realized that the writers hated him so much to make him the scapegoat for all the sh*t to come...

Poor Anders, doomed from the beginning, I didn't like him so much in Awakening because back then I thought he was just a mage version of Alistair, but now I'd pay to have his lighthearted self back...

That's what I can't stand, that you can't help him no matter what. I don't pretend to save him (but I wouldn't mind that

) but at least... ease his pain? Help him somehow to avoid loosing himself?
And anyhow, why Justice, who used to be a wonderful character, was only influenced by Anders' hate, of all his feelings? That's a bit... forced, isn't it?
