I am currently working on a contract for publisher Metro Media, creating a manga style graphic novel adaptation of the Shakespeare play Hamlet.
It's very exciting and I'm honoured to be working on such a huge piece - though it is a LOT of work ;^_^.

This is a taster page from the project. Watch out for this and also Romeo & Juliet by Sonia Leong early next year!

For more info as the projects come together, check out: [link]

Enjoy!

xD That last panel is a total MUFASA-- moment.

I love the way you characterised everyone. ;__; And Horatio! :D
All the other times I read the play, I pretty much ignored Horatio... it was only a couple of months ago that I started reasling how important he actually is, lol.

This scene is very dramatic... I love the way you paced it, and the expression are really intense. :D

Horatio's a great character because he's one of the only people who really sees what is coming, I think. He can see the darkness growing in his friend, and where his actions may lead, but he can only watch...which is so sad!

You'll be glad to know that this book has been out for a good few years now ^_^
You should be able to pick it (and my newer shakey title: Much Ado About Nothing) up in most book shops or, if it's not on the shelf, they'll be able to order it in for you.
I hope you manage to get a copy! ^_^

That's great! [feels uninformed] It's really great to see this because I am a English Major for Secondary Teaching, thanks for going through the work to put Hamlet together like that, it's really a pleasure to see manga and lit going together. Heck, it might even be a fantastic resource for students one day.

Well, I know that the manga shakespeare series is on the corriculum in Scotland - which is amazing!! I hear from several people these days using the books in school, it's very exciting to know! I wish I'd had something like these when I was at school, haha.
You should check out the rest of the series!
Thanks again!
