"Maker, hear me."

A soft, lilting brogue, rising gently from the central mezzanine of Kirkwall's chantry, caused Grand Cleric Elthina to pause her steps and turn. She let her eyes move sadly toward the kneeling boy she had raised as her own; the boy who was now a man, she reminded herself with a soft shake of her head. Sebastian seemed to spend so many hours on his knees these days that she wondered how he was able to keep up with the lifestyle Cortland Hawke's companionship demanded of him. When would the lad see that his service to the Maker shone through in his every action, his every word? Elthina knew as well as anyone that a holy duty

Complete antidote to my last fiction, haha. This little bit of silly takes place long before the previous post when Kirkwall sat in the eye of the storm. Hawke and his companions enjoy the peace, unaware that - between them - it is they who will bring about its end.
Just a bit of stupid fun, but bitter sweet if you know what's to come ^_^

Ashes from the burning chantry remains dance their way across the courtyard, ticking off the seconds, minutes of silence, before it is finally broken by a small, choked voice that can wait in silence no more.

"You hate me right now, don't you? You want to make me hurt, make me suffer; pay for what I've done. And yet, somehow, I'm under your skin. Unbidden, I have crept into the deepest parts of you until…until you cannot conceive of a world without me in it. And you hate me all the more for it."
The dagger at the speaker's back pauses. The hand holding it shakes.

okay, so Dragon Heir chapter 9 is DONE!!!! WEEEE!

Whether I go to print now or wait until I have another GN's worth partly depends on what people want me to do....I could show the issues online somehow and only print the GNs, or I can continue printing singles....not sure.

But anyway, enough distraction - enjoy the human hurricane that is Furose! ^__^

I can definitely feel Kalm's frustration over being helpless and I can clearly see the sword movements between the top right panel and the bottom left. I've always loved the way you put images behind panels to show more than you ordinarily have room for. ^_^

Also Dan loves the small detail showing the curve of Verance's blade.

It would be good to have the hard copy as I have the single issues of some of the others, but then having a copy online does make the waiting for the GN much easier.

GNs are lovely.....I will print a new GN when I've done another three issues, So I'm half way...but I know some people have said they'd like to read the issue too. hmmm...

Really cool page - poor Kalm!

I find the web/limited edition caters for everyone while you find time to get to a book, because some people still refuse to read things on the web.

Mind you, I still need to get issue 8! Was hoping to catch you at a convention sometime soon, but may have to mail order!
